This position provides professional work in the review, classification, analysis, and reporting of financial data for approximately 2,000 entities in the Child Nutrition Programs (CNP) to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. The individual will perform analytical and evaluative work by reviewing financial documentation using prescribed accounting principles to assess the accountability and effective utilization of federal and state funds that accrue to a food service account. This individual will also have the opportunity to assess for compliance with regulations related to the financial management, internal controls, and resource management for the CNPs.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment

Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday – Friday, with 60-minute lunch.

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. Staff is required to report to the worksite every Thursday, but is subject to change depending on work requirements. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Successful completion of the Commonwealth’s Accounting Intern Program; or

One year as a Financial Programs Trainee; or

One year as a Fiscal Technician, and fifteen college credits in accounting; or

Five years of Bookkeeping experience and fifteen college credits in accounting; or

A Bachelor’s Degree including or supplemented by fifteen credits in accounting.

Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
