EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Four years of experience in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
High School Diplomas and college/university degrees must be obtained from an accredited program or university approved by the United States Department of Education and the Texas Education Agency.
PRIMARY PURPOSE SUMMARY :
Assists the Senior Director-Human Resources and the Employee Relations Director by providing administrative duties, preparing correspondence, files and reports, and taking comprehensive phone messages. Serves as first line of communication with employees, representatives, and school officials.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Gathers information and documents in response to subpoenas and Texas Public Information Act requests.
2. Creates and maintains files and tracks detailed data related to grievances and employee relation matters.
3. Transcribes hearing recordings as needed and prepares Level III Board packets.
4. Maintains grievance, Employee Relations, and administrative leave reports.
5. Generates monthly reports to be provided to the Senior Director, Employee Relations Director, and Executive Director for Human Resources.
6. Locates and reviews employee files relevant to investigations, and reports findings to the Employee Relations Director.
7. Scans personnel documents (i.e. reprimands, memos, etc.) provided to the Employee Relations Director into employee personnel files as requested.
8. Mails certified documents to include State Board of Education Certification (SBEC) responses.
9. Assists with the management of documents in the document imaging system, including scanning/retrieving documents when necessary, and records retention.
10. Takes clear and concise notes when phone calls are received.
11. Initiates and safeguards confidential files.
12. Maintains a detailed calendar for the Senior Director and Employee Relations Director.
13. Files returned envelopes and certified mail cards.
14. Processes current employee personnel file requests and assists with maintenance of Human Resources records.
15. Manages files in accordance with the District retention schedule for all areas of compliance.
16. Completes requests for local travel reimbursement.
17. Enters “non-rehire” employee demographic information into the District’s system.
18. Prepares Board Agenda updates and administrator biographies in the absence of the Executive Director’s Administrative Assistant.
19. Compiles and organizes training materials (i.e. Power Point files, overhead slides, video tapes and handouts).
20. Represents North East Independent School District as a professional, knowledgeable employee.
21. Maintains confidentiality of all information.
22. Occasionally required to drive personal vehicle in the performance of assigned tasks.
23. Reports to work on time every day.
24. Performs additional duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
• Good understanding of North East Independent School District grievance process/procedure
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Ability to prioritize work and handle deadlines in a timely manner
Valid Texas Driver’s License with driving record that meets the requirements of the District

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must occasionally drive personal vehicle in the performance of assigned tasks.
