We are looking for an experienced Accounting and Admin Assistant with a strong background in Australian accounting, taxation, payroll, and system migration oversight. This role requires someone who can handle day-to-day accounting tasks, support a structured transition from Reckon to EZ Business, provide administrative support, and contribute to improving processes for efficiency, transparency, and automation.
Key Responsibilities
Manage accounts payable and receivable
Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate bookkeeping records
Handle payroll processing and ensure compliance with Australian taxation requirements
Conduct high-accuracy data entry and financial record maintenance
Manage incoming calls and emails professionally, including email cleanup and organization
Lead and oversee data migration from Reckon to EZ Business, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and replicability
Provide structured oversight during the transition from Reckon to EZ Business to ensure continuity and best practice implementation
Ensure financial data integrity during and after migration
Provide tax advice and guidance on messy or incomplete financial records
Issue financial receipts for 2025 and year-to-date transactions
Prepare and assist with BAS documentation (not lodging)
Develop and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for accounting processes, receipting, and BAS document preparation
Support in strategizing and implementing improvements to processes, tools, and automation in accounting and admin functions
Ensure all financial and administrative records are accurate, up to date, and well organized
Work closely with management to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality outputs
Requirements
Minimum 5 years of relevant senior-level experience in Australian accounting, taxation, and payroll
Demonstrated experience managing accounting software migration, particularly from Reckon to EZ Business
Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, reconciliations, financial reporting, and BAS preparation
Experience handling financial clean-ups and ensuring continuity during system transitions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in business-level English
Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
Strong process orientation with ability to create SOPs and improve systems
High level of integrity, discretion, accountability, and attention to detail
