Job Details

Anticipated Salary: $23.08 – $25.24 per hour

Time Off Plan: 20 days PTO, Week of July 4th off, School holidays: MLK Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving (Wed-Fri), Winter Break (Dec. 24 – Jan. 1)

Candidates must be located in the state of South Carolina.

Job Description

The Administrative Assistant provides high-level administrative support to the Chief of Student Services, providing administrative support by handling all records for the Student Services departments (Special Programs and Student Services), assisting with varied projects throughout the school year to include but not limited to testing, Powerschool coding, attendance, and medical records. This position is virtual and will require some travel to in-person meetings and events.

Schedules and attends meetings, taking notes and recording minutes
Handles highly confidential information
Coordinates Projects and tasks

Student Records

Requests and tracks receipt of records for SpEd, Multi-Lingual, and 504 students
Adding Enrich/ Ed Plan codes to 504/SpEd spreadsheets for enrolling students
Starts IEP programs for enrolling students in Enrich/Ed Plan
Sends special program records to transfer school for withdrawing students
Follows established District procedures for retention, protection, retrieval, storage and disposal of records

Special Programs Duties

Child Find Audit Checks for 504/ML/SpEd records
DDSN Forms- Registrar requests information from SpEd team and sends back to the third party that requested
PowerSchool coding

Attendance

Provides compliance support in PowerSchool
Partners with Attendance Coordinator and Student Support Administrator

Testing

Assist Testing Team with planning for Special Programs students attending State Mandated Testing
Assist in finding transportation to MKV students for testing/Blended Learning opportunities as needed
Partners with Special Programs and Student Support Administrators and the CoSS on action steps and meeting preparation.
Additional duties when assigned

This position has no direct reports.

Required Education & Experience

High school diploma; Bachelor’s degree in project management, business administration, communication, or related field preferred
Two (2) years of relevant work experience OR
Equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Qualifications

Great organizational and time management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience using search engines (internet) for research projects
Demonstrated competencies with general technology, Microsoft Office Platforms (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams, etc.), Google Platforms, Zoom, etc.
All clearances and background checks as required to work in a South Carolina public school
Travel for PD and in-person meetings as scheduled

This is a full-time position. Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week is required. Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday, typically 8-4 or as defined by the school.
