Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is looking to hire an Office Coordinator for the Office of Land Management at Sahara Woods. This position will provide specialized office support functions, have experience as a timekeeper, have the ability to balance accounts, monitor budgets and prepare budget reports, reconcile and prepare vouchers and prepare a variety of documents, databases and spreadsheets. Sahara Woods is made up of vacated strip mine land that encompasses approximately 4000 acres. Sahara Lake and numerous strip cuts make up approx. 270 acres of fishable water. Sahara Woods also has nearly 30 miles of beautiful off-highway vehicle trails open to the public. We welcome interested applicants who would like to be part of this team to apply today.
Essential Functions
Under direction, provides complex, specialized office support functions for the Site Superintendent at Sahara Woods, Saline County, Cave in Rock and other sites as assigned by the Regional Land Manager.
Performs complex keyboarding and word processing of assigned reports.
Records and tracks all permits, maintains records and reservation logbook.
Serves as office receptionist.
Serves as timekeeper for staff at Sahara Woods, Saline County, Cave In Rock, and others as assigned by Regional Land Manager.
Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to two years of secretarial/business college, or completion of high school and two years of related office experience or two years of independent business experience.
Requires ability to keyboard accurately at 30 wpm.
Preferred Qualifications
One (1) year of extensive knowledge of basic mathematics.
One (1) year of working knowledge of the logic of computer programs.
One (1) year of experience having the ability to follow oral or written instructions.
One (1) year of extensive knowledge of composition, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
