Job Description – Office Manager at Boutique Law Firm
Brown & Peisch PLLC (“B&P”) is a small boutique law firm located in Washington, D.C. that represents clients in litigation and regulatory matters relating to federally funded health and benefit programs.
B&P is looking for an administrative professional who is an organized self-starter with an interest in small business operations to fill the role of Office Manager.
As Office Manager, you will be the first stop for all administrative matters, ranging from managing contracts to liaising with clients to coordinating with vendors such as accountants, insurance brokers, and bookkeepers. As a small business, we frequently confront novel operational issues and, as Office Manager, you will have to determine whether to take the lead on a particular issue or elevate it to one of the managing partner. The role requires excellent organizational and communications skill, and it is a great opportunity for those who enjoy the independence to prioritize their own projects and an environment where no two days look the same.
The ideal candidate will fit well in a collaborative and collegial working environment. The most important qualities for anyone applying for this position are the ability to learn on to the go, balance many tasks, and take initiative with problem-solving. Many skills specific to the position and firm can be taught and learned on the job. With that said, B&P is looking for applicants who already have the following skills:
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Prior experience with administration
Familiarity with billing or accounting
B&P is looking for someone full-time starting in May 2025, but the firm is willing to consider an earlier start date. We operate using a hybrid working model, with a general expectation that the Office Manager will be working in the office four days a week. We value in-person collaboration but can make accommodations as necessary.
Salary ranges is $65,000 to $95,000, depending on experience. Full-time benefits include health, dental, 401K with matching, company paid life and disability insurance, and paid vacation time, sick leave, and holidays.
