SALARY: The salary range for this position is $48,134.11 to $78,859.72 for Schedule A, and $48,134.11 to $74,916.73 for Schedule B. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater. Judiciary employees hired prior to June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule A. Newly hired individuals, and Judiciary employees hired on or after June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule B.

The Union Vicinage is seeking a highly motivated, goal-oriented individual with excellent written and oral communication skills who is organized, detail-oriented, and committed to providing exceptional customer service. The successful candidate must possess strong problem solving, communication, organizational, and administrative skills. The candidate must also have the ability to adapt to change and adjust multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment producing optimal outcomes. Under the direction of the Human Resources Division Manager and the Assistant Human Resources Division Manager, this individual will provide Human Resources advice and assistance to managers, supervisors, and employees in the areas of health and dental benefits, worker’s compensation, database integrity and the unpaid internship program. The selected individual must have knowledge of HR practices, federal, state, and local government regulations and the ability to interpret Judiciary policies, procedures, regulations, laws, and bargaining unit agreements and communicate this information to management and staff.

REMOTE WORK: The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.

Example of Duties

Provide human resources support for unit
Draft correspondence, reports or proposals
Review employee records
Verify entered data against source documents
Manage and ensure integrity of the organization’s employee database
Process transactions in HR information systems
Provide technical human resource assistance to managers, supervisors, and employees in the area of recruitment and selection
Establish working relationships with state agencies and other outside organizations
Facilitate information sessions on human resources-related topics
Serve on committees or working groups and participate in team meetings
Perform other related duties as required
Regular and predictable presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position

Knowledge of, or prior experience in payroll processing, benefits administration, salary administration, classification, labor/employee relations, training, selection/recruitment and/or Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action is preferred.

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree.

Substitution: Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience on a year-for-year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits. An associate’s degree from an accredited college or university and two years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

Supplemental Information

Driver’s License: Appointee will be required to possess a driver’s license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.

Authorization to Work: US citizenship is not required. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.
