Team members work in a stable, specialized environment with exposure to commercial lending, investor relations, and real estate transactions.

Position Overview

Blackburne & Sons is seeking a detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support day-to-day office operations. This role is best suited for someone who is highly organized, adaptable, and willing to assist wherever needed in a fast-paced office environment.

This position will serve as a general support role across the office and will be responsible for a wide range of administrative tasks, including document preparation, filing, and assisting with loan and investor-related materials. The ideal candidate is comfortable handling both routine clerical tasks and more detailed administrative work.

This is a temporary position to cover a maternity leave (approximately 5 months); however, there is strong potential for the role to become permanent based on performance and overall fit, with opportunity for growth within the company.

Both full-time and part-time candidates will be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer and route incoming phone calls
  • Prepare loan approval letters and investor documentation
  • Assist in the preparation of investment bulletins
  • Make copies, scan, and maintain organized digital and physical files
  • Order third-party reports (appraisals, title, etc.)
  • Perform data entry and maintain internal records
  • Assist with general administrative tasks and provide support to the team as needed

Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid organizational and clerical skills (filing, document preparation, data entry)
  • Professional phone and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn new systems
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Previous experience in an office environment preferred, but not required
