UNCLASSIFIED POSITION IN THE MAGISTRATE COURT OF FULTON COUNTY

Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED and two or more years of administrative office support experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Resumes are welcomed without personal and identifiable information.

Specific License or Certification Required: May require a valid Georgia driver’s license.

Specific Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities:
Requires knowledge of Rules, regulations, policies, and procedures governing area of assignment. Theories and principles of basic mathematics. Billing, payroll, and/or procurement practices. Principles and practices of filing and basic records management. General office practices, procedures, equipment, and technology.

Requires skill in Delivering high quality, customer-focused service. Scheduling meetings, appointments, and special events. Creating and maintaining specialized filing systems and records. Using spreadsheet, database, word processing, presentation, and other software to Gather, organize, and presenting information. Building sustainable working relationships with other County personnel, officials, and the public. Communicating effectively with coworkers, supervisor, and the public. Generating enthusiasm and support for program objectives.

Examination:
The examination will consist of an evaluation of education and experience accomplished by analysis of the application. Application must document that the applicant possesses the minimum knowledge, skills, education and experience as listed to be qualified. If selected, an official, accredited college transcript is required, at time of employment, for all degrees/course work used to qualify for this position

Purpose of Classification:
The purpose of this classification is to provide administrative support for a division of the Juvenile courts.

Essential Functions:
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Prepares and distributes various reports and forms of correspondence.

Conducts research and compiles information. Addresses inquiries from other departments and the general public.

Screens incoming calls and/or visitors; determines where to refer inquiries. Maintains a record of all correspondence and documents.

Receives, verifies, and maintains information for required reporting.

Assists with calendaring. Performs other administrative tasks and assists in projects as directed.

Processes specialized case functions such as maintaining subpoena logs, processing case transfers between Jurisdictions and processing closed and sealed cases.

Additional Functions:
Performs other related duties as required.

Physical Requirements:
Work is typically performed in an office-like environment. May work in high conflict situations and with difficult, sometimes dangerous parties. Positions in this class typically require stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, sitting, standing, mobility, fingering, grasping, driving, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive physical motions. Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
