Your JobGeorgia-Pacific has an immediate opening for a detail oriented, resourceful, critical thinker for our Administrative Assistant role atour Naheola Mill located in Pennington, AL. This individual will add value by providing administrative and analytical support in the areas of the Board Mill Operations. This position is covered under a Union Labor Agreement. Our TeamNaheola Mill located in Pennington, Alabama, is a manufacturing site for the company’s well-known consumer products business, producing a wide range of products for the consumer business, including Angel Soft® bath tissue and Sparkle® paper towels, as well as bleached paperboard used in Dixie® paper cups and plates. The mill is the largest employer in the community with more than 900 employees and is engaged in supporting community outreach, workforce development and education.

What You Will Do

Perform administrative duties for multiple departments (filing, preparing reports, maintaining departmental records, ordering office supplies, felt and wires, etc. via software system, assist with coordination of visits to area, including customers and suppliers)

Publish and schedule weekly hourly employees work schedule for department and maintain hourly employee vacation list and shift preference information within the department

Assist with input of contracts into Indus system and perform month-end validation; update parent roll shipments, quality checks, finished goods inventory clean up in system, preparation of bill of lading for misc. freight loads, etc.

Serve as backup to other Office and clerical personnel when necessary.

Maintain confidentiality.

Maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing personal protective equipment (safety shoes; safety glasses; ear plugs; etc.)

Work with a limited degree of guidance/supervision

Work weekends, holidays and overtime as needed.

Perform other duties as needed.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

High School Diploma or GED

Previous work experience working in an administrative support role

Proficient office skills

Proficient computer skills in Word, Excel, Outlook, with the capability to learn other business software systems

Excellent analytical skills

Associate Degree or higher in relevant field

Demonstrated effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

Proven capability to adapt to and quickly learn new systems

Capability to anticipate needs and creatively work toward a solution

Demonstrate problem solving, organizational and decision-making skills

Experience in organization, prioritization, and decision-making skills to effectively manage multiple tasks

Experience working in a union environment

This role is part of the collective bargaining agreement and the starting pay for this role is set at $25.91 per hour.
