Career and Professional Programs at LaGuardia Community College is seeking a part-time office assistant to provide technical and logistical support to the students, instructors and administration.

Responsibilities:

· · Participate in the daily operations to ensure smooth functioning of the department.

· Support student follow-up through calls, emails and in-person.

· Support instructors to ensure they have the necessary resources and support.

· Maintain program laptops, ensuring count, proper care, updates and use.

· Provide support with scholarship processes including communication with applicants and tracking student progress and outcomes

· Collaborate and communicate with offsite team members to ensure seamless coordination and exchange of information

· Perform related duties as assigned

· Requirements:

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Able to work independently and also collaboratively with others, maintaining a positive, professional attitude

· Experience with office technology such as Google Drive, Zoom and MS Outlook

· Proficient in Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)

· Excellent effective oral and written communication skills

· Ability to work effectively under pressure and problem solve

· Afternoon/evening hours required

· Travel to LAGCC campus sometimes required

· Minimum High School Diploma

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Schedule:

Day shift
Evening shift
Rotating weekends
Weekends as needed
