Description of Job

Division of Gaming:
Ensures that limited gaming is conducted honestly, fairly, and competitively, and is free from criminal and corrupt elements.

What we do:

Sports Betting/Fantasy Sports unit ensures honesty and integrity in the sports betting and fantasy sports industry, through equal parts of education, compliance, and enforcement. The work unit ensures the physical and logistical security of sports wagering on-line and in off-site Sports Betting areas.

A typical day of a Administrator III:
The Division of Gaming is hiring someone who is a self-starter in our Lakewood Office (Remote). The professional in this position provides support to the Sports Betting/Fantasy Sports sections of the Division of Gaming and the Senior Management Staff of the Sports Betting Unit by performing administrative, logistics, and operational duties. The secondary purpose of this position is to support the Division’s hiring functions with OHR (Office of Human Resources).

Job Duties:

Assistant to the Chief of Investigations/Deputy Director (Sports Betting):

The Sports Betting Operations Coordinator serves as the Executive Assistant to the Chief of Investigations – Deputy Director of Sports Betting and Fantasy Sports programs, performing administrative and operational tasks.
The person in this position uses judgment on which issues come to the Chief or are assigned to other senior staff. The individual coordinates communications with the Chief and other staff, other divisions, or outside parties.
Coordinator assists the Chief with special project assignments as needed and assists the Agents in Charge as needed and upon request.
Coordinates unit business including scheduling of meetings, development of agendas, collection and distribution of materials, and preparation of minutes if needed.
Sports Betting Unit Operations and Logistics Coordinator:
The Sports Betting Operations Coordinator will make purchases and update/keep equipment inventory related to the business needs of the unit.
The position will coordinate and schedule travel for the Senior Staff of the Sports Betting Unit (DD/Chief, PM, AIC).
The position is tasked with entering data into Core for purchasing various items or services for the Sports Betting section.
Assistant to Senior Management of Sports Betting Unit:
Provides assistance with daily tasks (non-management) to the Agent in Charge and/or Program Manager when needed.
Work with Senior Management to prepare quarterly industry newsletters.
Manage and maintain, and update forms, memo letterheads for the unit. Will assist during any periods of recodification.
Monitor sports betting vehicle and equipment inventory.
Keep unit policy and procedure final drafts updates and organized in the system currently used by the unit.
Human Resources Liaison:
Coordinates with upper-level management and OHR liaison with the implementation of the Division’s staffing plan, ensuring proper documentation is submitted for the various positions allocated within the Division.
Maintains the tracking and organization of all employee files for the Division. Manages the processing of paperwork for new or vacant positions as well as worker comp and LWOP issues that are submitted to the HR Office.
The position acts as the Liaison between the Department of Revenue Human Resources office and the Division of Gaming. The person in this position initiates requisitions in NeoGov contacts applicants for interviews, background documents, and further evaluations such as physical and psychological evaluations for POST certified applicants.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience Only:
Six (6) years of relevant experience supporting leadership.

OR

Education and Experience:
A combination of related education in Business and/or relevant experience or a closely related field as determined by the Department equal to six (6) years.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to pass a background check/ Tax Check.

CONDITIONS of EMPLOYMENT:
Applicants must successfully pass a background investigation and a tax check prior to appointment to positions in the Gaming Division.
Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado driver’s license (at the time of application).
Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check.

Attends all DOR compliance training modules.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
State experience in a general clerical role.
Demonstrated flexibility and ability to identify and handle simultaneous, competing priorities, often with minimal notice.
Ability to anticipate tasks, situations, etc., to carry out responsibilities.
Experience coordinating/leading committees or other structured events/groups in a professional setting.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to work in a flexible environment requiring change and accountability.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize workload and delegate assignments to meet goals and objectives.
Ability to work independently and get assigned duties accomplished within the specified timeframes without needing to be reminded.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience working with commissions.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload independently
Create documents, reports w/charts & graphs, spreadsheets, and organizational charts.
Ability to use and navigate computers, systems and software.
Proficient with Google Suite and Microsoft Office (Advanced computer skills include but is not limited to):
search and sort routines
manipulation of data
query management
complex formatting
calculations
data import/export

Conditions of Employment with the CDOR:
Employees are in a position of public trust in the performance of their job duties and must operate in a manner that maintains the highest standards of honesty, integrity, and public confidence.

As a condition of employment with the CDOR, all personnel must file all necessary Colorado Individual Income Tax (CIIT) returns and pay tax obligations, therefore all employees must undergo a pre-employment evaluation of their tax records/accounts to ensure compliance with this policy. Final candidates must also complete a successful background investigation and reference check prior to appointment. Certain positions based on duties may require scheduled background investigations.

Pursuant to the Universal Driving Standards Policy (Download PDF reader), any worker who will be expected to drive a State-owned vehicle is responsible for maintaining a safe driving record and a valid driver license prior to driving any State-owned vehicle.

To be compliant with the new fleet vehicle policy, Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs) will be pulled for review for workers who:

Have an assigned State fleet vehicle

Are required to operate a vehicle as part of the position
Utilize a State fleet vehicle as a pool vehicle
