The Administrative Assistant/Classroom Associate plays a dual role in the school, providing essential administrative support with a primary focus on coordinating the lunch program (including free and reduced-price lunch applications) and assisting in classrooms for grades 4 through 6. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to work closely with students, staff, and families.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative Duties (Lunch Program Focus):
Coordinate and manage the school lunch program, including ordering meals, tracking participation, and maintaining compliance with state and federal guidelines.
Process and maintain accurate records for free and reduced-price lunch applications.
Communicate with families about lunch program eligibility, requirements, and deadlines.
Submit reports and documentation to the district or state as required.
Maintain accurate and confidential student meal records and payment accounts.
Serve as a liaison between the school, food service vendors, and district nutrition services.
Support general office duties such as answering phones, greeting visitors, managing attendance records, and handling correspondence as needed.
Classroom Support Duties (Grades 4–6):
Assist classroom teachers in the 4th, 5th, and 6th grades with instructional support, including small group work, clerical tasks, and student supervision.
Provide additional support to students with academic, behavioral, or social-emotional needs under the direction of teaching staff.
Help set up materials and activities for lessons or projects.
Supervise students during transitions, recess, and other non-instructional times as needed.
Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
