We are looking for a bright, energetic self-starter with keen attention to detail to join our team as a Legal and Administrative Assistant. This role will largely assist the transactional team of attorneys in a variety of legal and editing functions. The assistant will also be responsible for the management of in- and outbound mail distribution as well as day-to-day banking, organizational and inventory administrative responsibilities. In addition to the legal practice, the firm hosts and attends multiple industry conferences and trade shows throughout the year. The Legal Assistant would have the opportunity to gain facetime with clients and become involved in the events and marketing functions as interest and capacity allow.

You will be working in a fast-paced environment and with a team that will rely on your ability and eagerness to learn as well as verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Conducting and coordinating legal research.
  • Preparing correspondence and legal documents.
  • Liaising with outside agencies.
  • Tracking and monitoring existing cases.
  • Drafting Franchise Disclosure Documents.
  • Filing Uniform Franchise Registration Applications.
  • Proofing and preparing responses to state comment letters.
  • Proofing, gathering back up, and maintaining trademark applications and registrations.
  • Assisting with PowerPoint presentations.
  • Assisting with meeting and greeting clients and answering firm phone calls.
  • Managing firm related services such as maintenance, repairs, office supplies, mail, client deposits and similar routine support activities to ensure the office operates in a clean, efficient and effective manner.
  • Providing as needed administrative support for other staff and attorneys.

Qualifications and Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and retain information
  • Strong interpersonal skills

This role is currently based in our Philadelphia, PA office.

Compensation is $60,000/year. The firm pays for 100% of the employee's medical, dental, vision and prescription drug, life and disability insurance, pursuant to the rules of joining. The employee can participate in the firm's 401(k) plan after one year of employment.
