Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated professional to join our organization in a hybrid administrative support role. This one-year assignment offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, supporting overflow tasks for the Administrative group and providing interim support to a member of the Leadership Team. The ideal candidate will bring extensive knowledge of Merck internal systems, a strong administrative background, and the ability to manage a variety of responsibilities with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
Perform advanced secretarial and clerical duties with attention to detail
Manage complex Outlook calendars, resolve scheduling conflicts, and arrange meetings
Coordinate a variety of projects and perform multiple tasks efficiently
Assist with onboarding of new employees, contractors, and summer interns
Schedule and manage complex, multi-leg international travel including visa/passport processing
Support team site use and maintain internal documentation
Submit purchase orders (catalog and non-catalog) and manage payment requests via Comet/SAP
Maintain confidentiality and communicate effectively across all organizational levels
Provide interim administrative support to a Leadership Team member
Collaborate in a team-oriented, high-volume work environment
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required
Additional business or administrative coursework preferred
Experience
4-8+ years of relevant administrative experience
Strong proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Demonstrated experience with Merck systems: Ariba, Comet/SAP, travel system, Team Sites
Preferred experience with MyLearning and prior Merck employment
