Business Accounting Manager, Executive/Administrative

Location: Remote | Type: Full-Time | Compensation: $75,000-$90,000

The Business Accounting Manager oversees all accounting and bookkeeping processes, manages financial data reporting, handles the entire lifecycle of 1099 contractors, and supports human resources functions. This role reports to the COO and requires a strong background in accounting, data analysis, data interpretation, and cross-team communication, with a particular emphasis on effectively communicating financial data to non-finance company leaders.

Key Responsibilities
Oversee all accounting and bookkeeping functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
Prepare and analyze financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
Manage, revise, and improve the company’s chart of accounts.
Manage the 1099 contractor lifecycle, including onboarding, payment processing, tax documentation, and compliance.
Ability to effectively interpret financial data for non-financial team members.
Building elegant financial analysis tools for Directors and Managers that are both understandable and actionable by individuals.
Ensure regulatory compliance with federal, state, and local financial and tax requirements.
Assist with budgeting and forecasting to support business growth and decision-making.
Maintain payroll records and collaborate with external payroll providers.
Manage human resources functions, including benefits administration, employee record-keeping, and contribute to policy development.
Identify and collaboratively implement process improvements to enhance financial and operational efficiency.
Supervise the Consultant Coordinator and the Bookkeeper

What We’re Looking For

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial management.
Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and financial regulations.
High proficiency in QuickBooks, Ramp, and Gusto.
Experience managing 1099 contractors and working with independent contractors.
Strong familiarity with HR processes, payroll administration, and compliance.
Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
Experience managing a small team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and external partners.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining accountability.
Proven track record of implementing a growth mindset at all times.

Salary
$75-90K annually
Status
This is a full-time, remote position with occasional in-person meetings throughout the year in various locations. Some travel may be required.
