Job Standards
The Office of Public Utilities, Regulatory Affairs Division is seeking an individual to plan, direct and perform a variety of complex, specialized technical and administrative duties for ongoing and new programs for, and in assistance to, Environmental Health & Safety staff. Gather and compile data for use in preparation of various technical reports submitted to IEPA, USEPA, OSHA and other governmental agencies. From raw data, perform calculations used to prepare accident statistics and summary documents for regulatory and internal use and maintains these records as required. Perform qualitative and quantitative fit-testing protocol to determine adequate protection factors for employees wearing respirators, assures that such employees meet medical qualifications for the wearing of respiratory protection, and compile and maintain medical evaluations and records of employee respiratory fit-testing. Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of four years of high school; extensive knowledge of computer databases and spreadsheet software; three (3) years of technical work with computer software programs; or any equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Valid Class D Driver’s License required. Preference for employment in all positions within the city shall be given to applicants who are full-time city residents.
