Position OverviewApplications accepted from:All Persons InterestedSection:Transportation & Drainage Operations /TDOReportingLocation: VariousWorkdays & Hours:Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm**Subject to changeDescription Of Duties/Essential FunctionsHouston Public Works, Transportation & Drainage Operations is seeking a skilled individual to perform a variety of administrative functions related to training operations for the service line.

Monitors employees’ completion of courses designated as required safety classes to ensure compliance City, State and Federal mandates.

Create monthly reports of compliance and course completion for management review.

Transcripts are reviewed in TMS to ensure compliance along with the timely, successful completion of courses.

Provide administrative support to all TDO training needs such as securing training room locations, completing room request forms, sign-in sheets, etc.

Maintain and order training materials and resources.

Ensure calendar maintenance by updating TDO Training Calendar frequently.

Register and enroll/re-enroll employees for various training needs.

Provide verbal and written professional communication to all stakeholders to ensure training needs are met including reminders of upcoming trainings.

Create and close out classes in TMS.

Onboard new employees by creating Training Plans, complete required documents, and communicate new employees’ training needs to supervisors.

Serve as the recordkeeper to monthly Safety Committee meetings.

Communicate with 3rd party vendors to schedule training and coordinate with managers and training team.

Daily demonstrate and embody the Five to Thrive Values of Respect, Ownership, Communication, Integrity, and Teamwork.

Performs other duties as requested.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The position is physically comfortable; the individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc.

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Liberal Arts, or a related field.

Experience Requirements

One year of Administrative experience is required.

Professional Administrative experience may be substituted for the above education requirement on a year-for-year basis.

License Requirements

None

Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6. **
