Job Summary
Community Behavioral Health Hospital (CBHH) in Fergus Falls is seeking a talented, mission driven, person-centered Health Information Management Specialist (HIMS) / Office & Administrative Specialist, Intermediate to join our team. CBHH are 16-bed inpatient psychiatric facilities for adults experiencing a serious mental health episode. The length of stay is usually less than 30 days, during which treatment focuses on stabilization, patient education, and discharge planning involving community support resources, with the overall goal of preventing future episodes.
Responsibilities include:
Performs all front office tasks including but not limited to mail, ordering supplies, processing bills, preparing financial documents and supports human resource (HR) actions.
Maintains and submits data in support of the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement management
Serves as liaison, and provide necessary forms, reports, records and information to other offices providing services to the Community Behavioral Health Hospital, such as Human Resources, Financial Management, Staff Education and Management Services.
Assists, schedules and coordinates onboarding processes for all new hospital staff including facilitation of computer access, badge issuance, security access, keys, schedule and payroll setup.
Providing assistance and acting as a back up for the Building Services Lead
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Customer Services skill sufficient to communicate information to clients, including phone calls and walk-in contacts in helpful and courteous manner.
Data Entry skills sufficient to create database records and update entries or create and apply the basics of spreadsheets and supply/retrieve information in databases.
Database Management skills sufficient to locate, update, and retrieve health information from a variety of databases.
English language skills sufficient to read, write, and understand with proficiency in spelling, grammar, and punctuation used in medical/treatment records and business correspondence.
Physical Demands of this position include standing, sitting, pulling, stooping; ability to lift and move paper and batched documents of up to 20 pounds; ability to move arms on a continual basis sufficient to open mail, sort and file documents.
Specialized terminology skills to include medical terminology, document management, scanning, indexing and quality control.
Spreadsheet skills sufficient to develop and modify basic spreadsheets, and sort and extract data.
Typing/Keyboarding skills sufficient to complete a variety of reports, letters, forms, and data summaries.
Word processing skills sufficient to develop, format, and modify a variety of correspondence, records, reports and forms.
