Description
The Office of Inspector General (OIG) performs many varied functions for the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. OIG has six Divisions, Division of Regulated Child Care, Division of Health Care, Certificate of Need, KY Health Information Exchange, and Division of Audits and Investigations. These Divisions cover a wide variety of job tasks and duties in varied settings throughout Kentucky, which include inspecting and licensing childcare and healthcare facilities and services, and conducting investigations of complaints in those facilities, as well as conducting Medicaid fraud and other types of complaints for the Cabinet.

This position provides professional administrative support to the Regional Program Manager and the Human Services Program Branch Manager of the Division of Health Care, Northern Enforcement Br. In this position, you would assist with day-to-day operations to include answering phones, maintain various complex programs, projects, and activities. You would be responsible for processing complex federal and state survey packets for multiple levels of care for the Division of Health Care, data entry into the appropriate computer database, issuing Statements of Deficiency, creating letters, and attaching kits in the computer, along with fielding questions from facilities, providers, and the community.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Processes complex federal and state survey packets for the Division of Health Care.
Assist the Complaint Coordinator by taking referrals or allegations from the public.
Conducts new employee orientation in the enforcement branches and ensures new hire packet is completed and submitted timely.
Monitors the completion of staff training and ensures training certificates have been filed.
Serves as a liaison between the agency, providers, and community to respond to questions and concerns.
Contacts potential candidates for employment, schedules interviews and provides email confirmation for appointments.
Processes complex federal and state survey packets for the Division of Health Care.
Assist the Complaint Coordinator by taking referrals or allegations from the public.
Skills and Expectations include, but are not limited to:
Background in health services is preferred to address the needs of our customers.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with people of diverse backgrounds and in diverse settings.
Excellent writing and written communication skills.
Proficiency with use of computers and Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel programs for daily tasks.
Highly organized individual and experience managing a large case load are preferred.
Customer Service Experience.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor’s degree.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Three years of professional, administrative, or business experience.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
