ENVIRONMENTAL CRIMES STRIKE FORCE DIVISION

Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell is looking for a highly motivated Administrative Assistant to join the Environmental Crimes Strike Force (ECSF) within the Energy and Environment Bureau. The Administrative Assistant provides both administrative and paralegal assistance to the division.

The ECSF investigates and prosecutes crimes that harm the state’s air, land or water, or that pose a significant threat to human health. The ECSF is an interagency team that includes prosecutors from the Attorney General’s Office, officers from the Massachusetts Environmental Police, and investigators, engineers, and attorneys from the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). ECSF partners meet regularly to evaluate whether enforcement against environmental violations should be done administratively, civilly, or criminally.

The most egregious violations are referred for criminal prosecution.

Primary

Duties :

Provide direct support to the Division Chief and Division Assistant Attorneys General, including preparing reports and correspondence, managing calendars, and responding to phone calls.

Track cases and compile records, ensuring accuracy.

Respond to inquiries from the public in a professional and timely manner.

Assist in the development, implementation, and presentation of ECSF priorities.

Serve as the division’s contact for other bureaus and divisions within the Attorney General’s Office.

Support Assistant Attorneys General with research, fact gathering, drafting pleadings, maintaining files, reviewing documents, and preparing for hearings, meetings, or trials.

Communicate and coordinate with attorneys, witnesses, experts, court clerk’s offices, and members of the public.

Prepare and file court documents, complete forms, and maintain case management systems.

Perform other duties as required.

Position Requirements

:

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Ability to translate legal and technical concepts for non-technical audiences.

Effective organizational, time management, and keen attention to detail.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Database management skills and ability to learn case tracking software.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and a high level of professionalism.

Position Type:

Full-Time/Non-Exempt.

Our current hybrid model includes some remote workdays for most positions. On in-office days, employees are required to report to one of our designated office locations, either in Boston or at a regional office.

Salary: $56,592
