Administrative Assistant (full-time) – Special Projects Department Jobs in Salt Lake City, UT at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

The Administrative Assistant provides high-level administrative support to the Director of Communications and Development, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations of the department. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. Additionally, the role supports fundraising efforts, donor database management, and financial documentation processing in alignment with industry best practices.

Reports to: Director Communications & Development

Qualifications:

1. Education: High school graduate or General Educational Development (GED) Certificate equivalency.

2. Experience: Five years in office environment.

3. Have integrity and be trustworthy. Maintain work commitments and keep the Director of Communications and Development informed of work progress, timetables and any issues or problems which may arise.

4. A working knowledge of a donor database. Ability to transfer current skills to DonorPro database with training.

5. Thorough working knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation, and contemporary general office practices and procedures.

6. Math skills sufficient to prepare routine spreadsheets, calculate/balance invoices/expense reports, and strong analytical skills.

7. Computer skills in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.), , and database systems.

8. Effective verbal and written communication skills to communicate clearly and effectively with staff and others.

9. Strong work organization skills.

10. Ability to work independently and be an effectively as a team player.

11. Ability to be flexible, may evenings and weekends, as needed.

12. Sensitivity to the different cultures represented among members and staff.

13. Demonstrated ability to listen and communicate with others in a professional and caring manner including sensitivity with individuals from diverse cultures and lifestyles.

14. Demonstrated ability to set priorities for tasks to work effectively in spite of interruptions and under minimal supervision. Self-starter, reliable and dependable.

15. Fluency in English (speaks, read and write) is required.

16. Fluency in Spanish (speaks, read, write and translate) is preferred.

17. Current California driver’s license, appropriate insurance coverage and a driving record acceptable to the NEVHC’s insurance carrier (if required to drive on the job).
