Job Description and Duties

This position is Hybrid and eligible for telework up to four days a week and required to report to the office every Tuesday or as needed/required in accordance with DGS’s Telework Policy. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

Under the direction of the Executive Director of First 5 California (F5CA) in the Executive Office, the Administrative Assistant I (AA I) relieves the administrative detail on critical, sensitive, and confidential program issues of a moderate degree of difficulty by utilizing the Microsoft suite: Outlook, Word, Excel and SharePoint. The AA I will independently perform a variety of technical and analytical assignments, in accordance with State laws, rules, regulations, and/or guidelines, and F5CA internal policies and procedures. The position will determine best method of action, with limited instructions, to identify significant administrative issues and make recommendations to the Executive Director.

This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code. The position is responsible for making or participating in the making of governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests. The appointee is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment.
