Administrative Assistant I, Customer Service Representative Jobs in Bridgewater, MA at Bridgewater State University

We are seeking a traffic administrative assistant to support the hiring process of Over-The-Road drivers and other duties as assigned.

Primary duties:

Pre-screen applicants by asking specific questions to find the most qualified candidates
Schedule interviews between applicants and the hiring manager, and coordinating hiring efforts with fleet safety, HR and compliance.
Communicate with potential drivers about employment with American Furniture
Warehouse including the job duties, benefits, pay, etc.
Answer incoming and make outgoing calls in a professional and pleasant manner.
Monitor the progress/flow of all applicants within the applicant tracking system and other formats.
Perform general administrative support work such as running reports, copying, filing, faxing, scanning, etc.

Additional duties:

Answer calls from delivery drivers and relay any emergencies they have to the appropriate channels.
Booking and coordination of freight in a cost-effective manner for the company.
Communicate with drivers, customers, vendors, shippers, and receivers regarding changes in pick-up/delivery, potential service failures, appointments, and the pick-up/delivery of loads
Monitor road conditions, construction zones, and accidents to revise routes as needed
Maintain Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) driver log compliance
Track/trace shipments when requested and update vendors and locations on the status of their deliveries including any delays that occur
Daily monitoring of all assigned over the road routes
Hours of service and progress tracking
Build loads for transfers, any incoming loads,
Keep track of out of services tractors and trailers
Abide by all company policies and procedures.
All other duties assigned by the Traffic Manager as directed.

Computer Skills:

Ability to navigate multiple computer systems, type 35+ wpm, advanced familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.), and advanced internet research skills. Ability to regularly use computers for ordering, communication, documentation, scheduling, maintenance of organizational content on shared drives. Ability to apply technology up to and including Electronic Logging Devices, iPads, dispatch software, and windows. Experience with McLeod Fleet Locate and Omnitracs preferred.
