COMPENSATION: Adminisrative Assistant (Secretary II), $19.00/hour plus full benefits package.
Please note that the hourly rate of pay is inclusive of the mandatory 4.5% retirement contribution to the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF).

Job Description: To serve as an administrative assistant in the Dean’s Office. The Dean’s Office is a dynamic office that deals with student discipline, attendance and often serves as the location many staff and students go to for questions on a variety of topics.
Duties Include:
Assist building administration with necessary clerical tasks
Answer telephone and email and provide accurate information and/or route calls or messages to the appropriate school employee
Assist students with a wide variety of questions/issues brought to the Dean’s office and respond to parent phone/email inquiries regarding attendance, student conduct, detentions, lockers, parking, etc.
Maintain attendance, discipline, and other areas of the Student Information System (Powerschool) including entering data, running reports, and flagging issues that need attention
Perform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit
Qualifications desired
Highly organized, flexible, and willing to work as a team to assist with priority projects.
Strong background in excel, word, and Google applications
Attention to detail
Team player
Comfortable working closely with staff and students
Comfortable working in stressful situations
Ability to excel in fast paced environment
Bilingual skills helpful
Prior experience working in Deans Office related situations/environment preferred
Willing to build trusting relationships with students
Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality of all student personal information discussed in the Dean’s office.
Strong organizational skills
Ability to relate well to students, staff, and parents
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including tact in communicating sensitive information with parents and/or faculty/staff.
Ability to work independently and multi-task.
Flexibility and willingness to work as a team to assist with priority projects.
