Title: Administrative Assistant/Travel Staff Associate

Reporting Relationship: Chief Nursing Officer
General Summary of Responsibilities: The Administrative Assistant is responsible for supporting the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and the Nursing Division. This position relieves the Nursing Division Managers from handling routine functions, such as information requests, scheduling, developing presentations, helping coordinate education, and routine correspondence. This position requires the ability to perform secretarial and general clerical duties independently and under own initiative. This position also lends support to the other members of the Administrative team as assigned. This position provides coordination and support for the Health Professions Club and High School Cadets. This position also coordinates all Contract Travel Staffing placements. This position lends support to HR regarding records of nursing evaluations, competencies, certifications and licenses. Normal work hours are weekdays, 0800 – 1700, with flexibility of scheduling dependent on meetings and as otherwise required/requested.

Other Job Functions:

1. Participates actively in institutional committees as assigned
2. Assists the CNO, Administrative team, and the nursing management team with Joint Commission standards compliance and survey preparation
3. Other duties as assigned or requested

Education:

Required: High School diploma or G.E.D.

Preferred: Advanced education in business, clerical or information technology

Experience:

Required: Minimum of two years of office clerical experience; competency with office equipment; proficient with word processing software, Excel, Power Point, MS Office, Outlook, Publisher.

Preferred: Competency in medical terminology. Experience in a health care environment. Ability to use databases and publishing computer software programs.

Seeks out opportunities for learning new skills and procedures; uses effective methods to work together with staff and supervisors to accomplish goals

Manages conflict effectively and cooperatively, using TeamSTEPPS tools when indicated

Demonstrates honesty and integrity in all aspects of the job
