Hourly Rate: $19.37
Workdays/Hours: Varies – up to 25 hours per week as needed Monday – Friday; occasional weekends
Position to provide clerical and/or office support activities for city functions and staff. Incumbents assigned to this class perform routine administrative support and customer service at the Parks and Recreation Administrative Offices front desk.
Selected candidate will be responsible for providing customer support including greeting and directing guests, receiving and screening calls, registering clients, booking facilities and processing payments and for general administrative support such as distributing mail, data entry filing, record-keeping, copying, document processing and compiling reports.
Duties/Responsibilities
Answers phones, responds to routine questions and/or routes callers to appropriate staff/location;
Greets customers; processes registration and reservation requests;
Processes routine transactions; monitors for accuracy and completeness;
Maintains files and records;
Processes incoming/outgoing mail, as assigned;
Enters and retrieves data from the City’s information systems;
Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
High School Diploma or GED, and 1 year of experience in administrative support.
One (1) year of experience in administrative support.
Valid North Carolina Class C Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record
Additional Preferred Skills
Ability to read and understand written instructions, to understand simple processes and the routine operation of machines.
Experience with Microsoft applications (Excel and Word).
Recreation software experience.
Keep accurate daily record keeping or proofread.
Complete shift paperwork and other opening/closing duties.
Use computer systems to process registrations, manage records, or create work orders.
Keep up with a schedule of tasks and deadlines by managing your own time wisely.
Use point of sale systems (using cash register or credit card machines) to receive payments.
Providing support to internal and external customers.
