Job Summary:
This position is responsible for performing professional operating work on the accounts payable team. Processes or reviews and approves vendor invoices each day, ensuring that all invoices are accurate, proper backup information is attached, correct chart of accounts are entered, and have been properly approved for payment by the authorized program management. Performs journey level accounting-related tasks within an automated fiscal services system. Reviews and/or conducts the reconciliation of reports and financial data, identifying or correcting inconsistencies or errors. Examines and verifies fiscal transactions such as billing invoices, accounts receivable/accounts payable, or other financial documents. This position will assist in the both processing and/or review and approval of invoices each day. This position will assist directly with the AP Lead and Accountant 3 with daily tasks and financial reporting. Monitors and maintains records.
This is a hybrid position that offers the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department’s business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:
Processes or reviews and approves vendor invoices each day, ensuring that all invoices are accurate, proper backup information is attached, correct chart of accounts are entered, and have been properly approved for payment by the authorized program management.
Reconcile and resolve vendor statements, resolve vendor issues/concerns. Reconcile PCard statements, process PCard documents, reconcile and process telecommunications invoices. Complete vendor transactions timely and accurately, and assist in day-to-day tasks as needed.
Performs variety of finance and budgeting functions and/or transactions and implements improvements on reporting, communication standards, workflow, processes and procedures, and standard work.
Reviews and/or conducts the reconciliation of reports and financial data, identifying or correcting inconsistencies or errors. Examines and verifies fiscal transactions such as billing invoices, accounts receivable/accounts payable, or other financial documents.
Integrates the agency’s concept of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) into AP daily activities to gain efficiencies and increase effectiveness through continuous quality improvement techniques. Aids in updating policies and operating procedures. The position primarily teleworks, however they may be required to come into the office as needed.

Selective Preference(s):
Minimum of two years experience in fiscal payroll accounting operations is required.

Retirement:
To help you build a financially secure future, the State makes monthly contributions to finance your retirement benefit. The State will contribute to the ASRS in an amount equal to your contribution. In other words, you and the State will each pay 50% of the total cost of the benefit. New State employees have a 27-week wait period for contributions to begin.
