The client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented temporary Administrative Assistant to support the Media & Public Affairs business unit within the Government & Public Affairs Division. This position provides essential administrative and communications support, including assisting with internal and operational communications, executive events, and legislative and government affairs activities. The Administrative Assistant will also contribute to the planning, promotion, and execution of client’s 2025 Demographic Workshop and help coordinate content and logistics for high-profile organizational initiatives. The Administrative Assistant will engage with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and play a meaningful role in supporting client’s outreach and engagement efforts.
Client’s Media and Public Affairs Department deploys strategic communications to further agency priorities. The department aims to produce clear and consistent media and information that exemplify agency values and standards and enhance client’s reputation as a respected and influential voice for the region by increasing awareness of the agency’s work and purpose

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
Tasks

Provide administrative support to the Senior Public Affairs Specialist responsible for internal and operational communications, executive events, and legislative/government affairs activities.
Assist with the planning, promotion, and execution of client’s ‘s 2025 Demographic Workshop.
Support the publication and distribution of the agency’s annual budget and materials related to annual dues collection.
Coordinate speaker presentations and talking points for executive events.
Contribute to content development for legislative and government affairs initiatives.
Provide program and event marketing support for client’s signature events, specifically the 2025 Demographic Workshop.
Maintain organized records and communications to ensure continuity of key department functions.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be with a high school diploma or G.E.D.
equivalency.
Any combination of training, education, and experience that would provide the required
knowledge, skills, and abilities may also be considered.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of basic office procedures and practices.
Excellent attention to detail.
Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and maintain positive work relationships.
Excellent organization and time management skills.
The ability to develop and/or review clear, concise communications and reports.
Knowledge of basic to intermediate features of Microsoft Office Suite.
Proficiency in English usage, spelling, vocabulary, grammar, and punctuation.
Experience and knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint and Asana project management software a plus.
Experience working in the public sector.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $28.00 – $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 29 per week

Schedule:

Day shift
Monday to Friday
