POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Administrative Assistant – Transportation
POSITION SUMMARY:
Serves as the receptionist for Transportation operations. Receives and routes incoming calls. Helps to ensure safe, reliable and efficient transportation services under the direction of the Transportation Director. This position will work from 5:00am to approximately 4:00pm Tuesday – Friday . This is a year round position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain ongoing two-way radio and telephone communication with all transportation, administrative and school personnel.
Effectively and efficiently communicate with community, parents, and school personnel.
Responsible for accurately tracking and reporting employee leave and time worked through monthly payroll procedures.
Prepare and enters data into computerized database files. Updates spreadsheets on a daily basis. Ensures accuracy of data.
Prepare reports and provides departmental related information as requested.
Maintain Department filing system.
Ability to learn bus routing technoloygy and aid in development of efficient bus routes and parent communication.
Prepare all billing for field trip operations.
Provide estimates to school personnel, as well as community organizations, on field trip costs.
Perform other tasks as assigned by the Director of Transportation.
Self-starter and independent worker.
Possibility to obtain CDL to cover routes as needed.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Must be computer literate, with a reasonable degree of efficiency in typing, working knowledge of basic office procedures and operation of common office equipment and machines.
Customer service and public relations skills.
