The Children’s Learning Center at UWM is located on campus and provides excellent care and education for children ages 6 weeks through 13 years of age. The Center has been serving the university community for 50 years and offers both flexible and full-time scheduling options to UWM student, faculty/staff, and alumni families. The UWM Children’s Learning Center is licensed by the State of Wisconsin and accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
The UWM Children’s Center is dedicated to integrating diversity and family support programs along with coordinating ways to ensure innovative approaches to early education. Job Summary
Under general direction, the Office Manager is responsible for managing communication systems, general office administration, and facility services for the Children’s Learning Center. This position requires the ability to use considerable independent discretion, collaborate with others on department communication, work effectively with on- and off-campus personnel, understand and interpret policies and procedures, and direct the handling of operational and service inquiries in a professional and confidential manner.

This position is currently recruiting for 32 hours per week (80%). The final schedule will be determined upon hire. The Children’s Learning Center reserves the right to increase this to a full-time (100%) position in the future if necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Two years of relevant professional experience providing administrative, customer service, and/or data entry services
Two years of experience specifically providing customer service or equivalent working with a variety of individuals
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Outlook and other web-based software and technologies
Evidence of excellent communication skills, including telephone and email etiquette
Preferred Qualifications
Associates or Bachelor’s Degree
Digital data entry (or equivalent) experience entering data into software and/or relational databases
Experience supervising or leading workers and/or activities of groups in a childcare setting
Evidence of ability to work independently
Target Salary Range $19.00-$21.00/hour (Final salary offer will be contingent upon the knowledge, skills, and abilities demonstrated throughout the selection process) Benefits and Total Rewards
