Recruitment Range: $31,200 – $34,776

Primary Purpose of the Position:
The North Carolina Aquariums at Fort Fisheris seeking a dynamic, efficient, and enthusiastic individual to join our team as anAdministrative Associate II.This position is responsible for supporting the administrative functions of the expanded Aquariums. This includes the Director and Business Office staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Handling public information requests for facility hours, programs, admissions, etc.

Serve as the point-of-contact for the administrative office.

Responsible for typing and composing reports, memos, correspondence, forms, etc.

Maintaining files, receiving, sorting, and distributing mail.

Preparing and applying postage for daily outgoing mail.

Assist with accounts payable duties as assigned.

Assist Aquarium Director with duties as assigned.

Responsible for managing state vehicle use, schedules, keys, vehicle mileage logs. Responsible for maintaining office equipment such as fax machines, scanners, and copiers.

Maintain Alert Media notification program with onboarding, offboarding, and orientation for staff.

Weekend and/or holiday work may be required.

Must meet DNCR Fleet Safety Guidelines and have ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license.

The North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher

, 20 miles south of Wilmington, NC, in Kure Beach, overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and Cape Fear River. A living collection of more than 4,000 animals in 93,000 square feet of exhibit space attracts and engages more than 500,000 visitors each year. The Aquarium is surrounded by protected woodland, marsh, and beach. Visitors often plan to stop at sites adjacent to the Aquarium – Fort Fisher State Recreation Area and historic Fort Fisher Civil War Museum. Fort Fisher Aquarium is a unique place to visit and work.
