Job Summary
The Administrative Assistant I will provide expert administrative support to help administrators achieve departmental goals through effective liaison activities, daily office management coordination, and the implementation of programs and projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintains day-to-day administrative responsibilities for the office including answering calls, responding to department emails, checking department voicemails, submitting maintenance requests, and scheduling meetings.
Will assist with specialized projects that require significant attention to detail.
Assists with budget implementation and office ordering.
Supports activities of all areas of Engineering Success Services (ESS) .
Serves as first point of contact for ESS office, greets students, employers, and alumni by providing superb customer service.
Provides management of office keys, records retention, and business continuity planning.
Tracks and assists with maintaining various projects and documentation.
Performs various coordinating tasks to assist with meeting logistics, including room scheduling, ordering food, arranging chairs, tables, marker boards, AV equipment, etc.
May assist with training and onboarding of new student employees.
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED with three (3) years of administrative and clerical experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Proficient in Microsoft Suite.
Experience with Canvas (Learning Management System).
Experience with PeopleSoft.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Basic principles of customer service.
Prepares clear and concise reports, correspondence, and other written materials.
Conflict resolution, using tact, discretion, initiative, and independent judgment within established guidelines.
Researches, compiles, and summarizes a variety of informational, financial, and statistical data and materials.
Organizes work, sets priorities, meets critical deadlines, and follows up on assignments with minimum direction.
Applies logical thinking to solve problems or accomplish tasks.
Understands, interprets, and communicates complicated policies, procedures, and protocols.
Effectively uses automated systems including personal computers and office/specialized software packages.
Utilizes techniques in effective interpersonal communication.
Knowledgeable with University of Texas at Arlington policies and procedures.
