Position Description:
The Daytime Receptionist is responsible for providing genuine and authentic guest service according to the Jeff Ruby standards. Daytime Receptionist provides clerical and reception support for the Management and staff of the restaurant, including answering telephones, taking reservations, greeting clients and visitors, making appointments and referrals, selling gift cards, typing, and filing.
Work Performed:
Greets and refers guests and visitors.
Answers main telephone system, makes referrals, takes messages, and directs incoming calls appropriately.
Types and/or reproduces reports, forms, correspondence, menus, and other materials. Proofreads all work for accuracy and neatness.
Duplicates, collates, and prepares for mailing agency reports, lists, correspondence, etc.
Processes gift card order through the Point of Sale system.
Assists other departments as requested or assigned.
Performs restaurant related duties.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, reach, bend and stoop
Ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 40 pounds.
Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations
Required Experience:
Ability to accurately type a minimum of 50 wpm.
Good working knowledge of English, grammar, punctuation, spelling, style, etc.
Knowledge of efficient office procedures.
Ability to answer telephones and greet the public in a friendly and courteous manner.
Ability to speak in a clear and understandable manner and write legibly.
Multitasking when necessary
Training & Experience:
One year of clerical work experience plus knowledge of standard office machines, ability to work with detail, and good organizational skills. Willingness to follow recommended procedures, honesty, patience, good people skills, team player.
