Description
Boulder County Parks and Open Space Department, CSU Extension is seeking to hire a Front Desk Receptionist. This is a lead/specialist level classification in the Administrative Support series. The Front Desk Receptionist performs complex and specialized tasks unique to a particular office and/or technical support work requiring a thorough knowledge of departmental operations, administrative procedures and a considerable degree of independent judgment. The Front Desk Receptionist assists the public to answer questions of a technical nature involving interpretation for Boulder County and Colorado State University policies, procedures, and documents to provide information that requires extensive working knowledge of our Extension program areas. Provides key administrative support to six program areas and ensures proper operation and maintenance of office equipment.
This is a full-time, benefited position that will work Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm. This position will work out of the Natural Resources Building located at 9595 Nelson Road, Longmont, Colorado. Under Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines, this position is non-exempt (eligible for overtime).
Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.
Hiring Salary Range: $51,408.00 – $62,766.00 Annually

Examples of Duties
Provides excellent customer service with a high degree of professionalism while interacting with customers, staff, and the public to resolve problems, answer questions, and provide general information
Serve as the first point of contact by greeting visitors and assisting the public with technical inquiries, including interpreting Boulder County and Colorado State University policies, procedures, resources and documents
Handle incoming mail, sorting, routing, and processing as necessary
Perform general support accounting duties, including preparing cash receipts, maintaining the cash box, purchasing supplies, reallocating procurement card expenses, and tracking equipment rentals such as honey extractors and soil/hay probes
Maintain office supply inventory, order necessary items, and ensure proper operation and maintenance of office equipment such as computers, printers, and postage meters
Schedule and coordinate appointments and meetings using the meeting room calendars, while also arranging room setups for classes, programs, and events
Use software such as Excel, Word, Adobe, Outlook, Teams, Eventbrite, 4-H Online, Fair Entry, and PowerPoint to type, edit, and prepare correspondence, reports, memos, and forms
Train and provide general guidance to new employees on office equipment and procedures
Performs specialized tasks of a complex administrative, technical, or confidential nature for the Boulder County 4-H youth program
Collect, organize, and compile data for routine reports, while maintaining a database of archived CSU Extension – Boulder County newspaper articles
Ensure building security by ordering access badges for office staff, non-county offices, managing the safety procedures, and addressing other facility-related needs
Take in diagnostic samples and samples for ID, provide information for sending soil and water samples to CSU testing lab
Inventory and submit E-waste, Spring clean-up and Charm forms and stage for pick-up
Perform other administrative tasks and specialized duties as assigned
May be reassigned during emergency situations

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Boulder County is looking for well qualified candidates to fill our positions. Any combination of relevant education and experience is encouraged. In this position, we are looking for a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, and four years of office experience. Additional related education may count toward required experience.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds, as well as operate basic office equipment in an indoor office space.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience supporting an Extension office or other education-focused organizations- Experience supporting a team of people to deliver educational programming, including tracking program data, problem-solving, responding to questions from the public.
Experience working with diverse youth and families in a youth development, educational, youth-serving, community engagement or family-based program
Computer literacy skills in using databases, online platforms, word processing, organizing information, record-keeping, and operating office equipment.
General accounting duties, including preparing cash receipts, maintaining the cash box, purchasing supplies, reallocating procurement card expenses.
Bilingual in English and Spanish
Additional compensation will be provided based on the use of bilingual skills.

Vacation**
