The primary purpose of this position is to provide a variety of secretarial, clerical, and general office assistance for the Office of the Secretary. The position is responsible for answering the main telephone line for the office, processing mail, processing maintenance request, processing invoices, monitoring inventory, purchasing supplies, assisting with general questions for staff and the general public, reserving the conference rooms within the suite including the main board room, and other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

Knowledge of the Department of Transportation and its functions
Experience in providing office assistance
Experience using computer software programs (MS Office Word and Excel), the internet, and email/Outlook
Experience in providing customer service
Experience in processing mail and invoices
Experience in record keeping and filing
Experience in monitoring inventory and processing purchases for supplies
Demonstrates the ability to multitask while coordinating work of direct management and other support staff
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
