Description of Work
This Administrative Specialist II is a non-sworn position in the Coastal District Office of the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, located in Jacksonville, NC (Onslow County). The primary purpose of the Administrative Specialist II is to serve as the assistant to the Special Agent in Charge (SAC) of the Coastal District and to provide administrative assistance to support the investigative activities of personnel assigned to the district. This position requires the handling of confidential and sensitive materials and may be exposed to classified information. Job responsibilities include the following:
Evaluate and appropriately handle phone calls for assistance from personnel and the general public.
Review agents time sheets for accuracy and perform time recording duties in the NC OSC Integrated HR-Payroll System (Fiori).
Prepare and review a variety of forms and reports.
Maintain district files in accordance with SBI policy.
Maintain equipment and supply inventory and order supplies for the district.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with Benefits.

To qualify for this position, applicants MUST document on the application that they possess ALL the following:
Demonstrated skill in using Microsoft computer applications, such as Word and Excel, in a business setting.
Demonstrated skill in handling confidential information in a business setting.
Experience with preparing and reviewing documents/files for accuracy and appropriate documentation including mathematical calculations, spelling, punctuation and grammatical correctness.
Experience performing administrative functions in an office setting.
Ability to operate office machines and personal computers.
Ability to obtain and maintain Division of Criminal Information Network (DCIN) certification at the appropriate use level.
Selected candidates will undergo and must successfully complete a comprehensive background investigation which includes: pre-employment polygraph examination; credit and arrest checks; interviews with associates, personal and business references; verification interviews of employers; verification of education achievement; urinalysis drug screening; and submission of fingerprints.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
