Summary
Fire Creek Services Company (FCSC) on behalf of Sweetwater Cafe is seeking a part-time Administrative Assistant. The Administrative Assistant will help with the daily administrative operations of the cafe. The ideal candidate will be a hard-working, professional able to undertake a variety of café administrative support tasks and work diligently under pressure. This person will be comfortable working with a high degree of attention to detail and urgency as well as incorporating new and effective ways to achieve better results. A professional that fulfills any additional duties as needed. The position is based in Blackstone, VA at the U.S. Department of State, Foreign Affairs Security Training Center (FASTC).
Essential Functions
Organize office and assist café manager in ways that optimize administrative procedures.
Prepares correspondence and reviews documentation for completeness and accuracy.
Organizes and tracks expenses for submittal
Assist with monthly inventories, as needed
Maintains files to ensure completeness and accuracy
Prepares marketing documents
Maintains shared office area in a clean and organized fashion
Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
Physical Demands

Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Frequently lift or move objects up to 10 pounds.
Occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds.
Ability to stand for long periods of time must be able to push and pull up to 40 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Must be able to work indoors 90% of the time.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a part-time position, hours as directed by Café Manager. Days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 2:30 P.M – 6:30 P.M.
Travel
None required for this position.
Experience
Three (3) years of experience as an office assistant, or in another relevant administrative experience.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Thorough understanding of office management procedures.
Must be able to work independently.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in MS Office to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Foodservice experience preferred.
