Oklahoma City Indian Clinic (OKCIC) is a non profit corporation that provides culturally sensitive health care to the American Indian population. OKCIC services not only include basic medical care, but also dental, optometry, behavioral health services, fitness, nutrition and other family programs.

Oklahoma City Indian Clinic is looking for a passionate team member who is eager to join our team and provide professional assistance within the case managements patient-centered medical home setting. The ideal candidate will be an energetic, highly motivated, flexible team player, and readily adapting to a quick-paced environment.

Some essential duties to include:

Effective communication, organization, and time management skills
Familiarity with the professional and technical emerging case management knowledge
Coordinating and providing care that is safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and client-centered
Managing multiple case assignments
Time and priority management
SoonerCare and Medicare knowledge and/or willingness to attend training
Prior Authorization process knowledge (obtain prior authorization as needed)
Facilitate multiple care aspects (case coordination, information sharing, faxing, scanning)
Develop effective working relations and cooperate with the medical team throughout the entire case management process
Collaborate care with Indian Health Services as well as outside facilities
Interact with patients to keep track of their progress and to ensure satisfaction
Record referral information accurately, complete all necessary forms, and produce monthly reports
Retrieves and responds to patient telephone messages and EHR notifications
Responsible for requesting medical records from outside sources
Retrieve and return phone calls, organize incoming faxes, answer patient phone calls, and return calls in a timely manner.
Assist with scheduling appointments for lab, radiology, and other ancillary services.
Communicates with PRC and other specialty staff regarding the status of referrals.
Provides accurate and professional information to patients and individuals interacting with the organization via telephone, e-mail, or other forms of communication.
Communicates effectively and concisely with providers, staff, patients and their families, and the general public.
Performs clerical duties including typing memos, letters, reports, checking and distributing departmental mail
Maintains confidentiality of patients data and information.
Performs additional duties, as assigned by the Director of Nursing and/or other RNs, to assist with the flow of patient care.
Assist patients with completing referral documents as needed

Requires a high school diploma or GED
Two years directly related medical office experience
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of electronic health records and RPMS system preferred.
Exceptional organizational skills
