An Administrative Fellow is a part of a dynamic program that provides the Fellow with a valuable, broad-based, health network experience. The position will have various rotations lasting four months. Please note: This Administrative Fellowship position will run from June 2025 – June 2026.

During each rotation, Administrative Fellows are assigned an executive preceptor to guide them, select projects and provide feedback. The Fellow is required to gain an in-depth understanding of the policies and procedures that directly impact a specific service line, department and/or specialty area which can be improved, resulting in a positive impact on the quality of delivery by the service line, department and/or specialty area.

Candidate will need to be on-site and able to travel to Hackensack Meridian Health locations in the NJ Region.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, mathematics, statistics or related.

Responsibilities:

A day in the life of an Administrative Fellow at Hackensack Meridian includes:

Interact with other health professionals and provide guidance in the establishment of the fellow’s professional identity.

Rotate through core areas of Hackensack Meridian Health to gain a broad background and understanding of the network, which includes, but is not limited to Human Resources, Culture/Employee Engagement, Diversity & Inclusion, Patient Experience, Strategy & Business Development, Marketing, Finance, Informatics/IT, Supply Chain, Home Care, Ambulatory Services, Physician Enterprises etc.

Observe leaders to gain awareness of various decision-making processes and challenges facing today’s executives.

Spend time in a specific service line, department and/or specialty area, and complete various projects under the direction of executive preceptor.

Fellow and assigned executive preceptor selects assignments that are mutually beneficial to the fellow, the chosen service line, department and/or specialty area, as well as HMH.

Apply knowledge and skills learned from the classroom setting.

Meet quarterly with HMH Senior Leaders to discuss Fellowship progress, professional development opportunities, and current healthcare issues.

Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications:

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

Master’s Degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, Nursing or will complete degree on or before May 2026

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Working knowledge of Google platforms

Prior work experience in healthcare, including internships, entry level and professional positions preferred.

Demonstration of leadership through community involvement or professional associations is strongly preferred.
