Job Responsibilities
Table Rock State Park fits the bill for the natural beauty attributed to scenic Highway 11. The towering mountain, which gives the park its name, serves as a backdrop for the 3,000 acre park and its facilities. Below this section of the Blue Ridge Mountains, South Carolina natives and visitors can enjoy Table Rock State Park cabins, a campground and an old-fashioned swimming hole on one of the park’s two lakes.
Job Purpose and Duties:
Under general supervision of the Park Manager, performs diversified duties as governed by general instruction, policies and standard operating procedures of SCPRT to manage the operation of the Table Rock State Park Visitor Center. Assists with the overall operation of Table Rock State Park to include delivering information to the general public, making facility reservations, ordering and receiving retail inventory, processing new hire paperwork, organizing park events and processing invoices.
1) Assists with the administrative activities to include, but not limited to, receiving and documenting revenues, preparing reports and making payments in accordance with standard operating procedures.
2) Assists with the management of the Table Rock Visitor Center to include training of staff, handling reservations for park facilities in accordance with SCPRT guidelines. Works with local tourism partners and central office staff to make sure brochures and informational material given to park visitors are stocked and accurate.
3) Performs continuous public relations activities with emphasis on quality customer service. Communicates with park operations staff, housekeeping staff and maintenance staff to make sure facilities are clean and ready for guests arrival.
4) Maintains temporary employee personnel records to include new hire packages, leave requests, time entry and terminations. Assists in completing hourly employee payrolls. Maintains related files.
5) Maintains and operates visitor center retail operation.
6) Provides a variety of office functions related to callers, correspondence, contact submissions document file and retrieval system, etc.
7) Receives and records all Lodge reservations. Completes all Reservation packages..
8) Practice and promote teamwork within the State Park Service, throughout the agency and with external agency stakeholders. Represents office as an active member on agency teams assigned throughout the year.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
High School Diploma with 2 years of office management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Requirements:
Knowledge of required forms to complete the hiring process of temporary employees.
Knowledge of point of sale and inventory systems.
Knowledge of processing invoices for payment.
Ability to work a rotating schedule, to include day shifts as well as weekends and holidays.
Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
Ability to communicate with general public in a tactful and courteous manner.
Ability to supervise front desk clerks.
Must possess a valid South Carolina Driver’s License.

Actual Job Location: Table Rock State Park.
Full-time, 40 hours per week rotating schedule including weekends and holidays.
