Administrative Officer – Animal Health Job in Douglas at isle of man government –

About the role and our team

Join our team as an Administrative Officer in the Animal Health Team within the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture!

You will be responsible for providing administrative support in a number of areas including the promotion of animal health and welfare, the control of imports and exports and the monitoring and enforcing of compliance with legislation. You will also be responsible for the running of the day to day administrative functions of the Animal Health Team, including the Cattle Passport Centre.

Some of the main duties of this role are:
Answering telephone enquiries regarding all aspects of Agriculture

Co-ordinating inspection visits for Boarding, Breeding and Riding Establishments and issue licences on completion

Collating and managing data and test results, reporting any anomalies

Attaining and maintaining conversancy with the Bovine Identification Tracing System

It is important to possess excellent computer skills and have the ability to deal confidently with external organisations and members of the public. You will also need to have a flexible approach to work as out of hours work will be required in times of national disease outbreak.

You will be joining a small friendly team based at Thie Slieau Whallian in St John’s.
