NJAMHAA is announcing an exciting opportunity for an energetic, multi-talented, hands-on leader who wants to make a difference in a high profile, productive, mission driven trade association, and who has excellent administrative, technical and writing skills, to join the team at NJAMHAA.

The Administrative Operations Director (AOD) job is an exempt,hands onposition, which reports directly to the President & CEO as a key member of senior management and focuses on contract administration, business development, compliance, facilities, human resources, information technology and oversight of business operations.

This multi-faceted position is responsible for ensuring that NJAMHAA fulfills all state and/or third party contract requirements, which includes oversight of the NJAMHAA IT Project, a joint venture with the NJ Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services. The AOD also seeks other business opportunities, reviews grant proposals, and investigates feasible partnerships with outside vendors, and promotes membership on NJAMHAA’s technology council.

The AOD oversees compliance and risk management and reviews legal letters of agreement, contracts, leases etc. The AOD oversees facilities and safety and security in the workplace. The AOD acts as the technology team leader in the selection and adoption of various software platforms, including applications used for association management, conference and events management, time and attendance,as well as providing hands-on support and assistance.

With operational oversight and direct supervision of the NJAMHAA conference team, the AOD is responsible for marketing conferences, webinars, trainings and other service offerings, as well as promoting the services of the IT Project, which includes hosting an annual technology focused conference and a technology focused newsletter for members and stakeholders.

This position supervises the Director of the IT Project who oversees the IT helpdesk, manages field engineers and customer service contracts, while the AOD oversees all other activities of the IT Project, including hosting several committees, presenting product demonstrations and training programs beneficial to the behavioral health provider community, as well as advocating for providers at the state and national level when situations arise that affect the community at large.

The AOD oversees all human resource administration for the staff of NJAMHAA and its subsidiary, the New Jersey Mental Health Institute (NJMHI) and ensures that all employees comply with NJAMHAA/NJMHI’s Policies and Procedures and takes appropriate corrective actions when needed. As part of these HR responsibilities, the AOD creates and files documentation for each staff member, prepares performance evaluation forms and participates in all staff evaluations, contributes to the hiring and termination process, under the direction of the President & CEO, and assures all required regulatory employment notices are displayed as required by law.
