Essential Functions
As Bureau personnel liaison representative assist Divisions Administrative Assistant II in preparation, hiring and other personnel paperwork.
Composes complex letters, reports, plans, memorandums, etc.
Confers with and advises management on implementing applicable procedures as required.
Serves as Laboratory Information Management (LIMS) system administrator.
Acts as Bureau’s Budget and Fiscal liaison.
Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications
Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, preferably with courses in business, public administration.
Requires one (1) year of professional experience in a public or private organization, or completion of an agency approved professional management training program.
Preferred Qualifications
Prefers extensive knowledge of programs and service objectives, activities, and operational systems in a public or private organization.
Prefers working knowledge of programs, rules, and regulations for agency within a public or private organization.
Prefers extensive knowledge of computer program applications.
Prefers two (2) years of experience working in a public or private organization maintaining confidentiality of information.
Prefers extensive knowledge of manual and automated office equipment.
Prefers extensive knowledge of arithmetic computations.
Prefers working knowledge and background in Personnel and Budgetary.
Prefers extensive knowledge of principles of office management.
Conditions of employment
Requires ability to pass background check and self-disclosure of criminal history.
Requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel occasionally.

The Illinois Department of Agriculture administers an annual budget of approximately $200 million and employs more than 400 people statewide, with several hundred more seasonal employees hired during the summer to support the Illinois State Fair and Du Quoin State Fair. Separate bureaus administer programs and services directed at conserving the State’s land and water resources; protecting the health and welfare of livestock and companion animals; overseeing state and county fairs; regulating seed, feed, and fertilizer products; ensuring the financial stability of grain dealers and warehouses; promoting Illinois food and agricultural products; and operating the State’s horse racing programs.
