Where You’ll Work

This position is based in our Washington, D.C. office. We leverage a hybrid working model working three days in the office, two days optional remote work.

What You’ll Do
This new position will provide administrative and strategic support for assigned senior leadership while supporting the administrative and operational needs of the DC office. As part of the executive office, this position will support the executive team’s work with CHA’s board of trustees and its committees, ensuring that all governance matters are handled smoothly and effectively.

Support administrative liaison functions to the board of trustees by scheduling annual and ad hoc governance meetings, taking and distributing minutes, facilitating annual conflict of interest disclosures, organization and maintenance of all governance documents other needs as assigned.

Serve as a collection point, internally, of governance activities including board, governing committee and other governance forums, adhering to compliance with applicable rules and regulations set in bylaws regarding board and board committee matters.

Provide comprehensive administrative support, including managing dynamic calendars, drafting and managing correspondence, expense reporting and arranging travel and the associated logistics.

Research, prioritize, and follow up on incoming issues and concerns addressed to the executives, including those of a sensitive and confidential nature. Effectively prioritize conflicting needs, acting proactively with the preferences of individual executives in mind.

Support the coordination of meetings by managing scheduling, attending meetings, recording minutes, and ensuring timely follow-up on action items.

Assist the Executive Assistant to the CEO in creating and updating meeting materials for leadership team meetings and other meetings as needed.

Support executive-led projects, acting proactively and following through to successful completion, often with deadline pressures.

Supervise and coordinate the activities of non-exempt front-office administrative support and provides training and guidance, including conducting safety training and drills.

Facilitate cross-office coordination of travel and communication on behalf of the executive office.

Serve as the main point of contact for vendors and contractors, including building management, coordinating any maintenance work orders for the DC office.

Manage day-to-day office operations such as processing mail, cleaning/stocking/ordering supplies for all public areas including kitchen, stock room, etc.

Experience and Skills:

What You’ll Bring to CHA

Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

High School Diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.

6+ years of experience providing administrative support.

2+ years of experience supporting C-level executives.

Experience providing operational support for Boards and/or other forms of corporate governance.

Experience and interest in internal and external communications.

Strong relationship building skills.

Strong computer skills with demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and virtual meeting platforms.

Ability to travel up to 20%

This pay range shown is a guideline. Min: $50,000 Max: $100,000 Compensation is based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role’s location and is subject to change based on work location.
