Salary Recruitment Range: $36,682 – $51,109Salary Grade: NC08This position currently qualifies for a hybrid telework option with routine office and remote workday. Telework options are subject to change at the discretion of management.Mission of the Department of Insurance:To promote a stable insurance market through unbiased regulation and to protect the lives and property of every citizen in all 100 counties while fostering superior, user-friendly service, courtesy, and respect. Primary Purpose of the Position:The principal purpose of this position is to provide administrative support to the Life and Health Division Deputy Commissioner, plus two supervisors, and Senior Deputy for the Product Regulation Group, and to facilitate the Life and Health Division’s workflow as assigned. The incumbent works with management to facilitate the daily operation of the division. This employee is responsible for answering the telephone for the Life and Health Division, triage telephone calls and forwards calls as needed. The employee must be familiar with the functions of the Department of Insurance and have a basic understanding of the functions of each Division within the Department to appropriately route misdirected communications.The position is responsible for monitoring the equipment needs of the Division, inclusive of telephone service, fax communications, Computers, Display Monitors, and various other office equipment and supply needs to assure adequacy.   Also, the position will be responsible for preparation of Business Travel Authorization (BTA) preparation as requested by the Life and Health Division Deputy or the Senior Deputy – Product Regulation Group, and assist with other budgetary functions as directed. Because the position serves as receptionist for the third floor, the employee is the initial contact for visitors to the Life and Health Division, the Property and Casualty Division, Market Regulation Division, and Product Regulation Group Senior Deputy.   This position, physically stationed in the Beechleaf Office Building, Third Floor – Life and Health Division, receives escorted visitors, including insurance company officials, legislators, law office representatives, and the general public.
