Job Description
This position will assist the day-to-day operational activities of the Part-Time HEOP Program and the Office of Commuter Part-Time Studies at the College of Professional Studies. The position provides information and support to HEOP students related to learning resources including tutoring, academic materials, parking, transportation, and HEOP events. HEOP duties include but are not limited to; overseeing in-house tutoring, managing student accounts for books, parking & tutor vouchering, monitoring & responding to department email accounts, answering phones, and event planning. As part of the dynamic Commuter Part-Time Studies Office team, this position also processes paperwork and provides functional support to student record management.
This position is part of a bargaining unit and is represented by the union SEIU, Local 200United.

Education and Experience
Associate’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Two (2) plus years of relevant experience, preferably in a higher education environment.

Skills and Knowledge
Understanding of sponsored grants, supervision of tutorial staff, using Syracuse University systems & proficiency in commonly used office software.
Exceptional customer service skills, problem solving ability, ability to work effectively in a team and autonomously.

Responsibilities
Administers HEOP learning resources, HEOP study space & computer lab.
Provides information about HEOP & campus tutoring resources, supervises HEOP tutors including hiring if needed, schedules tutoring appointments, identifies tutors for HEOP students.
Monitors tutor payroll & tutoring budget.
Collects tutoring session reports & compiles for HEOP reporting purposes.
Provides administrative support of HEOP program & director, answers office phones & emails.
Runs reports in MySlice/Data Insights tracking HEOP student enrollment & rosters.
Prepares & submits University & HEOP forms (HEOP eligibility form, requisitions, ID forms, travel arrangements, credit card reconciliations, etc.).
Advises & supports HEOP Students regarding bookstore & parking accounts, administers HEOP Laptop Loan Program & issues/tracks bus passes for students.
Works with resources across campus for setting up accounts & processing payments.
Plans & implements special events such as HEOP Awards Ceremony.
Coordinates general communications with HEOP Students.
Supports HEOP recruitment efforts, maintains & updates HEOP recruiting materials, acts as initial phone contact for HEOP potential applicants.
Provides general administrative support for CPS Commuter Part-Time Studies Office.
Oversees shared email inbox for the office and participates in phone tree coverage.
Processes academic petitions and posts transfer credit as needed.
Provides functional support to student record management in OnBase, PeopleSoft, and DegreeWorks.
