POSITION TITLE: ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT II – DC

OVERVIEW & PURPOSE:

administrative, clerical, records processing, data entry, and Program Assistant support duties. Work generally requires

support duties are stronger than the Administrative Support Assistant in terms of variety, complexity, and independence.
Work at this level requires more self-initiative and the ability to resolve most issues by applying standard procedures.
Unusual situations may be referred to others for guidance. General knowledge is required of the Department and related
County functions. Guides may include a variety of manuals and instructions and on-line resources; skill is required for

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Serves as support for programs, accounts receivables/payables, data entry, or other administrative support for functions

Receives and greets visitors/customers; provides services concerning visitors’ needs; may handle requests independently.

Processes fingerprint cards, arrest cards, and photographs to the SBI; fills in on the dispatch desk.

reports for supervisor.

Handles billings or receivables and other sources of revenue from Departments; makes deposits and reconciles financial
records; processes timecards for employees.

Inputs data into computer systems; generates records, reports, bills and/or other requirements from the data; verifies
and edits data.

Assists in conduct of elections in compliance with NC Election Laws; maintains current voter registration; assists Local,

accuracy.

Operates a computer to generate correspondence, memoranda, electronic mail, reports; reviews work for compliance
with instructions, spelling, punctuation and grammar; proofreads final copies.

Types a variety of materials including charts, spreadsheets, and statistical data from notes or instructions; proofreads final

May process purchase requests or personnel/payroll actions for the Department or Unit.

May provide back-up assistance to other roles in the Department.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE “REQUIREMENTS”:

Graduation from High School and one (1) year of experience as an Office Assistant, Secretary, or related administrative
support position, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a North Carolina Driver’s License.

This position is designated as an authorized Motor Vehicle Operator for Iredell County and requires adherence to the
Iredell County Vehicle Operations Policy.
