Job Purpose

ROMCO Equipment Co. is seeking a dedicated and personable Receptionist to be the first point of contact at our Dallas (Carrollton) branch. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional customer service, manage front desk operations efficiently, and support the administrative team to ensure smooth workflow and customer satisfaction. This position reports directly to the branch’s Product Support Manager.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Greet and assist all visitors, customers, and vendors in a courteous and professional manner. Maintain a tidy and welcoming reception area.
Answer and route incoming phone calls, respond to inquiries, and assist customers with basic questions regarding products and services.
Provide administrative support, including scheduling appointments, managing correspondence, data entry, and filing.
Liaise with different departments to facilitate communication and improve response times to customer needs.
Handle incoming and outgoing mail, package deliveries, and document distribution.
Support inventory records for office supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels.
Assist in basic transaction processing when necessary, such as directing customers to payment options or connecting them with the sales team.
Adhere to company safety policies and assist with visitor sign-in procedures to maintain branch security.
All other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability requirements

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency with phone systems and office software, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Strong multitasking abilities and attention to detail.
Positive and professional demeanor with a focus on customer service.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle varied tasks.

Education and Experience

1-3 years of receptionist or administrative experience, preferably in a dealership or similar customer-facing environment.
High school diploma or equivalent; further administrative training or coursework is a plus.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be alert and is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Working Conditions and Additional Requirements

This job operates in an office environment. Office hours are from 8:00am to 5:00pm with occasional needs outside standard business hours to accommodate meetings, training and projects. Some travel may be required. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
