Salary

The salary range for this position is CAD $24.76 – $26.38 / hour.

Job Summary

We are currently looking to fill a Relief Full-Time opportunity for an Administrative Support Clerk to support Population & Public Health in Burnaby.

Overview

Under supervision, performs administrative functions such as reception, typing, filing, mail processing, meeting arrangements, office equipment operation, client intake, and timekeeping.

Responsibilities

Provides reception services, answers calls, directs inquiries, and refers visitors.

Types correspondence, reports, and documents; maintains filing systems; prepares informational packages.

Maintains office supplies and stationery levels.

Arranges meetings and special functions, including booking and catering.

Operates office equipment and performs minor maintenance.

Assists with client intake and scheduling.

Performs timekeeping functions and reviews payroll data.

Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Grade 12 and graduation from an approved Office Administration Certificate program plus 1 year’s recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Skills and Abilities

Effective communication skills in English.

Interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.

Problem-solving, decision-making, and sound judgment.

Initiative and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Typing speed of 40 wpm.

Proficiency with relevant computer software and equipment.

Knowledge of office procedures, acts, regulations, and policies.

Physical ability to perform duties.
